BYLAWS

The internal operating rules of Troop 44, that define the troop’s purpose and membership requirements, specify Committee positions, responsibilities, election procedures. They outline meeting frequency, conduct, membership renewal, establish decision-making processes, voting procedures, and amendment processes.
Bylaws are reviewed/discussed and must be accepted when joining and annually thereafter (see Committee Chair).

SAFEGUARDING YOUTH

All leaders are required to be trained in order to deliver a safe, quality Scouting program. Online training is provided for adult volunteers on how to be a successful leader. All new leaders must take Safeguarding Youth Training and a variety of other online training courses prior to leading the Scouts. Parents are encouraged to take this training as well.

Trotwood’s Scout Troop 44 was chartered in November 1923, marking over 100 years of continuous scouting.

Since our first scoutmaster helped guide the troop in its early years, many dedicated leaders have set strong examples and clear goals for our scouts. Their guidance has helped shape young men into grounded individuals who strive to become good citizens and leaders in their community, nation, and the world.

During the past 100 + years, over fifty (50) troop 44 scouts have attained the rank of eagle. Troop 44 has proudly served the Trotwood community through volunteer projects such as trail clearing and tree planting at sycamore state park and cleanup on the B&O blue caboose at the Trotwood railroad station.

Phillips Temple Church became the troops Charter Organization in 2019.
