We invite you to experience Phillips Temple Church in person. We know that looking for a new church can be intimidating, so whether you’ve grown up in church, never been to church, or are coming back to church, our desire is that you feel welcomed and accepted. We look forward to meeting you and your family.

What kind of church is Phillips Temple Church?

Phillips Temple Church is a member of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church Denomination.

Membership in a depositional church carries a special privilege: it is the privilege of partnership. Our members are invited to join us in advancing the Kingdom of God through sound biblical teaching, discipleship, ministry outreach, and global missions.

What time and how long are your Sunday services?

Phillips offers two services on Sunday at 9:00am and 11:00am. Both of our services offer great worship music, a relevant message, a welcoming, loving atmosphere, and friendly people who are eager to meet you and connect with you.

Our services are virtually identical, so feel free to come at the service time that is most convenient for you.

Our services last approximately 1.45 hours. We recommend arriving about 15 minutes before the service to allow time for parking and seating.

What is your worship like?

Bring your Bible: Phillips is a bible based church. Worship through music is a high priority for Phillips, as we believe our praise ushers in the Holy Spirit. Our praise team and choirs minister worship songs with a full band. Our gifted musicians and singers also present original worship songs and music as they allow the Holy Spirit to flow through them.

We also believe in worshiping God through dance and drama. Phillips has a special focus in the creative arts. We use music, song, dance, drama, as well as technology, such as video presentations, to worship God and teach His word.

We are excited to use our anointed time of praise and worship as an avenue to worship God. We want everyone who comes through the door to experience the life changing power of worship through music, according to Psalm 100:1-4.

 Where will my kids go?

Phillips is a family friendly church with a strong commitment to building a Godly foundation in our children and youth. We offer specialized ministry for children and youth of all ages – from infants through teenagers.

  • Noah’s Ark focuses on infant to 3 years old children. Infant care is provided for babies eight weeks and up.
  • Creation Station is designed for children 4 to 12 years old.
  • 7th and 8th graders ministries are offered every Sunday during both the 9am and 11:00am services, as well as for Wednesday evening Bible Study at 7pm.
  • PISM Ministry is for junior high and high school students meet every Wednesday at 7pm.
PISM stands for Plugged in Student Ministry.

All of our children and youth ministries allow your children to experience the promises of God through praise, worship and biblical instruction, according to Matthew 19:14.

What should I wear?

There is no dress code at our church.  Many people dress up, and just as many come dressed casually. When you worship with us you should be comfortable. Your comfort may be traditional church attire, jeans and sneakers or business casual. Come as you are!  Matthew 11:28-30

Will I be asked to give an offering?

As a guest, you are welcome but not expected to make an offering. The Tithes and Offerings portion of our service is a time of celebration at Phillips. Our members are excited to give as part of their commitment to God and the church, according to Luke 6:38.

As a visitor, will I have to say anything or be singled out?

No, You will not be asked to say anything or introduce yourself as a visitor. As our way of welcoming you, we do ask all of our First Time Visitors to stop at our welcome desk and fill out a guest information card.

If I need prayer, will Phillips pray for me?

Phillips is a praying church. We have intercessory prayer before our 9am service. We pray corporately:

Monday at 6:30am, Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm. If you wish, you may also send prayer requests through the SUBMIT PRAYER REQUEST tab on our website or call the church office. Your prayer request will be forwarded to one of our ministry leaders.

Does your church take Communion?

Communion is taken on the first Sunday of each month. All believers in Christ are welcome to participate. 1 Corinthians 11:23-29
